New Paper Paintings

This new series of oil & cold wax paintings on paper have been made during the third lockdown here in the UK. I have called this series ‘Interlude’ as a nod to this time and have gravitated towards a warmer colour pallet than usual, because I wanted to work with brighter colours as a way to lift my spirits. The process of building up the layers slowly and then scratching back through to reveal previous colours and marks, was greatly cathartic and has helped to calm and ground me during this time.
