Experimental Printmaking - 22nd November 2024
A fun 1-day workshop where you will explore the playful processes of gelli-plate printing, mono printing & dry point.
This session will allow you the opportunity to print from a gelli plate using paper stencils and a variety of found objects such as bubble wrap, string, cardboard and lace. Acrylic paint will be used, along with inexpensive materials which can be easily sourced, including those from nature.
You will also have time to explore mono printing and drypoint printing using a professional print press. Multiple colour prints will be explored and achieved from overlaying prints, resulting in rich and evocative imagery. You will have access to printing plates in a variety of sizes and shapes and will also explore printing on a variety of papers.
The workshop will also include tutor demonstrations, time for experimentation and play and a chance for you to develop a series of prints and/ or Christmas cards you can take away with you!

Testimonials
Great set up with amazing views. It was such a privilifdge to be able to lean from Laura in her studio and to make connection with the other artists.
Liked the demonstrations- lots of ideas to think about and try. Think the workshop has helped me to relax and enjoy art making. I liked the whole concept of experimenting and playing - simplified the process for me. Thorough enjoyed and has given me plenty to think about going forward on my art journey.
I just loved the way Laura made it seem so easy and uncomplicated - I’m hoping this will give me the freedom to try to experiment more and to just enjoy making art and being more open and expressive without worrying about the finished product.
The mix of practical work with information about materials and techniques was great. Lots of advice about possible approaches and ways of thinking about work.
